He was predeceased by: his parents, James Montgomery and Callie Loma Rose Montgomery; and his siblings, Early Lamb, Tom, Al Montgomery, Lorraine Lancaster and Retha Bailey.

He is survived by: his wife Gloria Tumilty Montgomery of Micro; his children, James Montgomery (Kim) of Micro, Craig Montgomery (Becky) of Selma and Elizabeth Montgomery of Hampstead; his sister-in-law Shirley Montgomery; and his grandchildren, Alexander, Ciara and Devon Montgomery.
