She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Penny and Irene Wester Penny. She is survived by: her husband Richard Shepherd; her children, Lynn Godwin (Diane Narron) of Selma and Laura Grady (Lawrence) of Selma; her sister Joan Braswell (Herman) of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Stephanie Grady, Noah Grady, Jordan Grady, Baleigh Godwin and Vander Godwin; her great grandchild Carter Grady; and her niece Beth Parker of Clayton.
