He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Murphy and Helen Butler Murphy; his sister Judy Hensley; his parents-in-law, Charles and Mamie Deyton; and his siblings-in-law, Rev. Bud Edwards and Debbie "Nubbie" Byrd.
He is survived by: his family Elvis; his wife Ann Deyton Murphy; his son Marcus Murphy (Tiffany) of Green Mountain; his grandchildren, Ryler Norman, Layton Ledford and Nolan Murphy; and his sisters-in-law, Lou Edwards of Burnsville, Sarah Harris (Johnny) of Green Mountain, Dawn Peterson (Andy) of Green Mountain and Tammy Ward (Kenneth) of Hallandale Beach, FL.. He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews and other extended family also survive along with many friends.
