He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Hemingway; his children, Renee Etheridge of Colerain, NC and Michael Lee Hemingway (Amy) of Merry Hill, NC; his grandchildren, Bret Hemingway, Gabriel Hemingway, Dean Etheridge of Colerain, NC, Braxton Langley of Currituck, NC, Michael "Little Mike" Hemingway, Jr. of Merry Hill, NC, Parker Hemingway of Merry Hill, NC, Reagan Hemingway of Elizabeth City, NC, Riley Quails of Chesapeake, VA, Winter Hemingway of Merry Hill, NC and Cierstyn Langley of Merry Hill, NC; and his sisters, Patricia Chambers (Ben) of Powell's Point, NC and Barbara Allsbrook of Elizabeth City, NC..
