It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Almeda Fay Rodgers Ison of Merry Hill, North Carolina, born in Raleigh, West Virginia, who passed away on January 19, 2021, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Rodgers and Charlotte Marie Evans Rodgers; her husband Harvey Jerome Ison; her sons, Edward Kenneth Adkins and David Wayne Adkins; and her sisters, Pat Jones and Delores Arthur.
She is survived by: her children, Carla Youngs (Joshua) of Tyner and Ronald Adkins (Dorinda) of Elizabeth City; her daughter-in-law Sandra Adkins of Tyner; her sisters, Rita Azer of Florida and Loretta Holcomb of West Virginia; her grandchildren, Chris, Nicholas Adkins, Kelsey Lane, Samantha Turner and Lorenzo Chavez; and her great grandchildren, Austin, Sam, Randy, Ben, Ren, Camden and Amari. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
With the restrictions and precautions associated with the Covid-19 Pandemic, no formal visitation is being held, however friends may visit the family at the gravesite immediately following the service. Masks and social distancing measures should be followed.
