He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Oscar John Miesner and Emma Freeman Miesner; his sister Jane Miesner Bright; and his son Ricky Allen Miesner. He is survived by: his significant other Sara Robison; his children, Barbara Buikema (Tim) of South Carolina, Nancy Graves (Mike) of Mebane and Bradley Miesner (Pat) of Mebane; and his grandchildren, Joshua Buikema (Martha) of South Carolina, Max Graves (Amanda) of Florida, Jacki Buikema of Australia, Mandy Graves of Mebane and Chelsea Newsholme (Mike) of Burlington.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent to Mebane United Methodist Church or Amedisys Hospice.
