He was predeceased by: his parents, Percival John and Lillian Hall John; his children, Kim John and Wilberto Melendez; and his grandson James Perez.
He is survived by: his wife Denise Helen John; his children, Christian John, Noelle John, Veronica Hargrove (Morris), Debra Core (Ervin), Charlene Leath (Andre), Lisa Perez (Jimmy) and Alisa Ginyard (Tony); and his sister Olive Simmons. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
