He was predeceased by: his parents, John Pennix and Effie Boswell Florence; his wife Doris Godwin Florence; and his siblings, James Florence, John Florence, Jack Florence, Willard Florence, Bobby Jo Florence, Billy Florence and Frances Terrell.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Florence Jr. (Pam), Laura Glasgow (Dale) and Jo Ann Wetzel (Dan); and his brother Aubrey Florence. He is also survived by three grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
