He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Rose Vernon and Mamie Scott Vernon. He is survived by: his spouse Shirley S. Vernon; his children, Pam V. Lynch (Joey) of Mebane and R. Keith Vernon (Darlene) of Mebane; his sister Dorothy V. Smith (Dean) of Portland, OR; and his grandchildren, Keith, Jr., Heather, Matthew, Joel, Jr., Jacob and Jared. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
