She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Terry and Lula Walls Terry; her adoptive father Troy Layne; and her husband Vernon Miles Byrd, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Jackie Byrd Elmore (Darrell Cook), Vernon "Bo" Byrd, Jr. and Ronnie Byrd (Vicki); her granddaughters, Jordan Elmore and Britney Owen; her brother Edward "Mutt" Terry; and her niece Brenda Coleman.
