It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lucille L. Byrd of Mebane, North Carolina, who passed away on December 10, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Terry and Lula Walls Terry; her adoptive father Troy Layne; and her husband Vernon Miles Byrd, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Jackie Byrd Elmore (Darrell Cook), Vernon "Bo" Byrd, Jr. and Ronnie Byrd (Vicki); her granddaughters, Jordan Elmore and Britney Owen; her brother Edward "Mutt" Terry; and her niece Brenda Coleman.
