It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katie Byrd of Mebane, North Carolina, who passed away on January 21, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Sutton Byrd and Verna Byrd; her husband Ira Byrd; her son Larry Byrd; her grandson Nicholas Byrd; and her sister Shirley Hughes.
She is survived by: her daughter Susan Byrd Johnson; her daughter-in-law Debbie Carter Byrd; her grandchildren, Bryant Byrd, Kyle Johnson (Katie) and Taylor Johnson; and her sister Bessie Moore. She is also survived by her great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt. Zion Christian Church Cemetery Fun at 3210 Mt. Zion Christian Church Rd. Mebane, NC 27302 or to the AthuraCare Hospice at 918 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215.
