Joyce Fowler Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joyce Fowler of Mebane, North Carolina, born in Battle Creek, Michigan, who passed away on May 1, 2020 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Preston Wesley Watkins, Sr.; her son James Fowler, Jr.; her mother Katherine Cross (Wanzer); and her sister Mary Elizabeth Fowler (Watkins). She is survived by: her husband James Fowler; her children, Marian Graves (William) of Mebane, NC, Janice Robinson of Marietta, GA, Robert Fowler of Dallas, TX. and LaShonia Mabin of Covington, GA.; and her siblings, Preston Wesley Watkins (Splick), Ralph Watkins of Grand Rapids, MI, Franklin Cross, Jr. and Christina Marie Payne of Battle Creek. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
Although Joyce was ill, she developed loving relationships with the nursing staff who took care of her as if she were their own family member, even threw her illness with the Coronavirus. Joyce sang "Oh How I Love Jesus" during her last visit to the ICU which was not like other hospital visits, so we know she was comforted by our Heavenly father during her COVID-19 illness and eternal transition.
