He was predeceased by: his parents, John Davis Sims, Sr. and Lona Dare Parker Sims. He is survived by: his children, John Davis Sims, III and Steva Everett; and his grandchildren, Alexis Sims Trendowski, Parker Sims Deaton, Justin Hibbert, Katherine McNulty, Caroline McNulty and Benjamin McNulty.
