It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hugh D. Landis of Mebane, North Carolina, born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, who passed away on March 12, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Geraldine Willoughby and Hugh Landis Sr.; and his children, Becky, Tom and Mark.
He is survived by: his sister Mary Jane; his wife Lavonda Rowe Landis; his daughters, Beth and Phyllis; his grandchildren, Rebecca, Phillip, Ryan and Maggie; his great grandchild Corbin; his children, Keith and Shari; his grandchildren, Andy, Stephen, Brit, Jeremy, Trevor, Jackson and Lauren; and his great grandchildren, Avery, Donna Reed, Grace, Alaia, Veda Quinn, Wyatt and Maverick.
He and Lavonda enjoyed studying the Bible, praying together nightly, reading devotional books, worship, hymns and watching worship programs on TV during the pandemic.
Memorials in honor of Hugh can be donated to Temple Baptist Church in Durham, North Carolina on Umstead Road.
