She was predeceased by: her husband Carl Payton Mace; her parents, Samuel Augustus Shanklin Sr. and Bessie Denson Shanklin; her sons, Robert Payton Mace and John L. Mace; and her siblings, Susie Wood, Johnny Shanklin, Sam Shanklin and Jack Shanklin.

She is survived by: her children, Nancy Mace Poteat (Ronald) and Carl Jerry Mace Sr. (late Jackie Mace). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
