It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of George Elmo Newman Jr. of Mebane, North Carolina, who passed away on July 19, 2022, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Nettie Mae Rudd Newman; his parents, George Elmo Newman and Eula Holt Newman; his daughter Diane T. May; and his siblings, Richard Newman and Margaret Ferrell.
He is survived by: his sister Mildred Baldwin of Burlington; and his granddaughters, Cynthia Sternberg and Jessica May. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
