He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Bowden and Tinnie Coble Bowden; his wife Christine R. Bowden; and his siblings, Ruby Bowden, Paul "Ed" Bowden, Royzell "Easy" Bowden, Julius "Wolf" Bowden, James Everette and Ralph Bowden.
He is survived by: his children, Angela Bowden, George "Bubby" Bowden Jr., Dexter Bowden (Evelyn) and Lemont Bowden (Takesha); his siblings, Dorothy Curtis, Mildred Anderson, Lillian Flowers, Helen Mebane and Thomas Bowden (Lizzie); and his brother-in-law Alfred Rogers (Marlene). He is also survived by six grandchildren, three great grandchildren.
