He was predeceased by: his son James Robert Franklin "Robbie"; his parents, James Henry Franklin Sr. and Annie Doris Rice Franklin; and his brother Richard "Ricky" Taft Franklin. He is survived by: his wife Linda Hammond Franklin; his children, Christy Franklin Kernodle (Kenneth), Garry Taft Franklin (Kelly) and Tyler Wayne Franklin (Kristin "Pom Pom"); his siblings, Brenda Franklin James (Richard) of Haw River, NC, Woody Franklin (Leann) of Casselberry, FL and Mike Franklin (Tracy) of Melbourne, FL; and his grandchildren, Karsen of Mebane, NC., Caylee of Mebane, NC., Kennedy Kernodle of Mebane, NC., Anniston of Mebane, NC., Garrett Franklin of Mebane, NC., Levi of Mebane, NC. and Asher Franklin of Mebane, NC.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
