It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darrel Gene Carmichael (Mebane, North Carolina), who passed away on October 31, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lacy Carmichael and Dora Carmichael; and his brothers, Wilson and J. E. Carmichael. He is survived by: his wife Gerda Carmichael; his children, Robert Carmichael (Lisa), David Carmichael, Barbara Brown, Allen Carmichael, Mark Carmichael (Alan) and Christina Carmichael (Jerry); and his siblings, Wesley Carmichael, Evelyn Lunsford Palumbo, Peggy Lunsford and Robin Younger. He is also survived by six grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
