She was predeceased by: her parents, Lonnie Brown Dodson and Ella Caroline Jones Dodson; her husband Archie Averette Hicks; her fiancé William "Billy" Hunter; and her siblings, Vera Crawford, Marie Thompson, Katie Ivey, William "Bill" Dodson, Tyson "Whitey" Dodson and Bernis "Bun".
She is survived by: her daughter Sheila Storey; her son-in-law John Storey; her grandson Jason Storey; and also, Sheryl Kirkey-Dean, Emma Rose Dean and Braden Dean. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
