He was predeceased by: his parent Enoch Jackson Freeman; his son William Charles Freeman; and his siblings, Henry Freeman, Jack Freeman, Edworth Freeman and Mildred Trainor.

He is survived by: his parent Lena Howell Freeman; his wife Mary Estelle Freeman; his daughter Amy Parker of Indian Trail; his son-in-law Jim Parker of Indian Trail; his sister Carolyn F. Woodruff of Boonville; his daughter-in-law Danna F. Freeman of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Jennifer Jackson, Zack Jackson of Waxhaw, Daniel Freeman of Raleigh, Jacob Parker of Matthews and Marianna Parker of Hendersonville; and his great grandchildren, Parker Jackson and Cooper Jackson.
