She is survived by: her parents, Sammie Lee Thurman, Jr and Tomika Thurman (Whitten) of McLeansville, NC; her brother Samuel Lee "Trey" Thurman III; and her grandparents, Sammie Thurman Sr. (Daphne), Martha Watkins, Roosevelt Whitten (Susan) and Rosalind Taylor. She is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate contributions for a charitable fund to be setup to honor Taylor's memory, c/o Tomika Thurman, 5417 Craqgganmore Dr., McLeansville, NC 27301.
