He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Bowman and Neva Bowman; his wife Carol V. Bowman; and his siblings, Hazel Kimery, R. D. Bowman, Robert Bowman, Jake Bowman, Jerry Bowman, Colon Bowman and Dezzie Mae Malier.

He is survived by: his children, Lacy C. Bowman, Jr. (Mary) and David A. Bowman (Mylinda); his grandchildren, Lacey Marie Bowman Ledford (Bryan), Amber Paige Bowman, Jacob Carl Bowman (Laurin) and Lucas Pearson Bowman; his great grandchildren, Brentley Ledford, Zackary Bowman and Paisley Ledford; and his sisters, Rachel Thomas and Orpha Wiseman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
