He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia; his son David; his sisters, Helen Causey, Esther Livengood Irby and Eleanor Lambert; his stepbrother G. W. Patrick; and his parents, Annie and John Patterson.
He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey Patterson Clapp (Lynn) of Pittsburgh, PA and Jean Groome (Tim) of High Point, NC; his grandchildren, Megan Clapp of Pittsburgh, PA and Brian Patterson Clapp (Barbie); his great grandchild Samantha Clapp of Austin, TX; and his nephew Mitchell Causey (LaTosha Irving). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Harry had requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at NC State University, noting the gift is in memory of Harry Clapp.
