He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Powell and Nellie Payne Powell. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Nuckols Powell; his children, Janet P. Coley (Bryan) and Jeff Powell (Gina); his brothers, Kenneth (Betty Powell), Jimmy (Beulah Powell), Tommy (Linda Powell), Leonard Powell and Gary Gray (Paula); his grandchildren, Lee Coley (Mary Grace), Libbie Keene (Caleb) and Sarah Wellborn; and his great grandchildren, Emma and Anna Leigh Coley.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to New Bessemer Baptist Church 4115 Hines Chapel Rd, McLeansville, NC 27301 or to a charity of the Donors Choice.
