He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Layton and Sadie May Thomas; his siblings, Elmer, Garland, Ralph, Willard Thomas and Nellie Riddle; and his grandson Jacob Quakenbush.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Andrews Thomas; his sons, Don Thomas (Teresa) of Gibsonville, Steve Thomas (Merry) of McLeansville and Mike Thomas (Laurie) of Gibsonville; his grandchildren, Barry Thomas, Kyle Thomas, Kristin Schloder, Matthew Thomas and Nicholas Thomas; his great grandchildren, Katie, Alex, Mason, Jackson, Kenzie, Memphis and Lindsay; and his sister Rachel Cook of Archdale. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
