He was predeceased by: his parents, Esquire Gwyn and Hazel Carver Gwyn; and his siblings, Melton, Jimmy, Rachel, Gloria, June, Evelyn, Mary and Christine.

He is survived by: his brothers, Earl Gwyn of McGrady and Esquire Gwyn of McGrady. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
