It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Samuel Latham Whitehurst Jr. (Maysville, North Carolina), who passed away on October 16, 2022, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Latham Whitehurst and Penny Wells Whitehurst. He is survived by: his grandmother Williams; his stepmother Carolyn P. Whitehurst; his siblings, Gay Thompson (Odell), Sara Jessica Whitehurst and Fred Whitehurst; and his nieces and nephews, Sam Whitehurst (Sallie), Andrea Kite (Patrick), Russell Whitehurst, Ashley Benton (Roger) and Lauren Ortega (Ricky).
