He is survived by: his wife Constance "Connie" McElhinney; his children, Andrew Charles McElhinney (Leslie) of Aurora, IL, Thomas Scott McElhinney of Maysville, NC and Sharon Diane Chaires (Rafael) of Maysville, NC; his siblings, Robert McElhinney of Texas, Barbara Miller of New Jersey and Janet Thawley of New Jersey; and his grandchildren, Adeline, Elaina, Benjamin McElhinney, Tyler and Breann Chaires.
