He was predeceased by: his son Derek Scott Taylor Jr.; his grandson Logan Verkest; his parents, Clifford Leo Taylor and Mary Willemson Taylor; and his siblings, Chris Taylor, Aaron Taylor, Richard Reider and Constance Forgrave.
He is survived by: his wife Angela Taylor of Maysville; his daughter Nicole Verkest (Doug); his stepchildren, Shayna Grannon, Hannah Eversole, Austin O'Neal and Josh Grannon; his siblings, Wyatt Taylor, Brian Taylor, Jason Taylor (Laura) and Carmen DeBolt; and his grandchildren, Colton Verkest, Dylan Verkest, Brooklyn Verkest, Jolynn O'Neal, Emmalie Wheeler, Carson Grannon and Haven Fleming. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
