It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clarence Derwood Bennett of Maysville, North Carolina, born in Lawn, Texas, who passed away on June 3, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Olean and Nannie Maye (Haynes) of Sweetwater; and his grandsons, Jason Michael Godwin of Maysville and Clarence Derwood Bennett III (Trey) of Maysville. He is survived by: his wife Mary A. (Altman) of Maysville; and his children, Mary Sue (Roger Jenkins) of Maysville, Cindy Jean Bennett of Maysville and Clarence Derwood Bennett Jr. (Mia) of Maysville. He is also survived by two brothers; six grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
