He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Houston Carter and Ollie Perdue Carter; his son Richard Glenn Carter; his siblings, Carl Ray Carter, William Edgar Carter, Nancy Jo Carter and Doris Carter; and his siblings-in-law, Maggie Carter and Calvin Zimmerman.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Carter; his daughter Gwynne Kallam; his son-in-law Mark Kallam; his grandsons, Richard of Stoneville and Houston Kallam of Stoneville; and his sisters, Eunice Zimmerman of Eden and Sue Moretz of Eden.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rockingham County Friendship Center, Hwy 770, Stoneville NC 27048.
