He was predeceased by: his parents, James Roy Smith and Jane Mostowski Smith; and his brother Bradley Smith. He is survived by: his wife Joan Smith; his daughters, Jennifer Gowl (Adam) of Mebane, NC and Jessica Smith of Kernersville, NC; his grandson Joshua Gowl; and his sister Sandra Shepherd (Glenn) of Graham, NC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
