He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewitt Vernon and Naomi Thornton Vernon; his son Jeffrey Lynn Vernon; and his brother Thomas Vernon. He is survived by: his wife Susan Griffin Vernon; his stepchildren, LeAndre Wilder (Jeff) of Mayodan and Isaac Paschal (Kim) of Eden; his grandchildren, Madison Wilder and Isabella Snody; and his nieces, Dawn Cook, Loveta Cook and Jennifer Griffin Moore.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Fair Funeral Home (432 Boone Rd, Eden, NC 27288). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Fair Funeral Home Chapel (432 Boone Rd, Eden, NC 27288).
