Middleton, Peggy Middleton Craig, Laura Middleton Newton and Catherine "Kitty" Middleton Currie; and his nephews, William Blue Currie, Jr. and Alec Middleton.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Holland Middleton; his children, Samuel "Sam" D. Middleton, Jr. of Chapel Hill, William Holland Middleton (Linh) of Ft. Worth, TX and Lee Ann Middleton of Maxton; his sister Patsy Ann Middleton of Charlotte; his sister-in-law Sarah Middleton of Charlotte; his granddaughters, Elena Middleton and Lily Middleton; and his nieces and nephews, Ayn Muse Middleton, Matthew Middleton, Nancy Middleton and Scott Newton.
The family is requesting donations be made in Samuel's memory to the First Presbyterian Church of Maxton, 303 N. Patterson St., Maxton, NC 28364.
