It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rufus Strickland (Maxton, North Carolina), who passed away on June 28, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Strickland and Ruby Strickland; his son Michael Ray Strickland; and his siblings, Samuel Strickland, Romuel Strickland, John Jr., Carrie Lee Strickland and Ruby Lynn Strickland.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Strickland of Rowland; his son Glenn Strickland (Crystal) of Rowland; his daughter-in-law Lori Strickland of Pembroke; his siblings, Virginia Demery of Rowland, Shelby Locklear of Rockingham, Luke Strickland of Pembroke and Richard Strickland of Rowland; and his grandchildren, Mike Strickland (Yessie) of Biscoe, NC, Loren Strickland (Justin) of Pembroke and Gabrielle Strickland of Pembroke. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
