Phyllis Carol Chavis Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Phyllis Carol Chavis of Maxton, North Carolina, who passed away on December 8, 2024 at the age of 59. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Phillip Jones and Linda Carol Hallman (Mae Wanda); her husband Braxton Chavis Jr.; her stepfather Derrell Hallman; and her grandparents, Gus Locklear, Stella Mae Jones, Lister and Florence Locklear.
She is survived by: her children, Tiffany Brook Chavis (Matthew Hardin) of Red Springs, NC, Braxton Chavis III of Maxton, NC and Jeffery Hayes (Christy Hayes) of Charlotte, NC.; her siblings, Hollie Hallman of Maxton, NC, Pamela Harris of Maxton, NC, Tabatha Locklear of Raleigh, NC, Phillip Jones Jr. (PJ) of Georgia, Gus Jones (Bear) of Georgia, Travis Jones of Georgia and Kermit Ransom of Maxton, NC; and her grandchildren, Maci Hardin, Braxlei Chavis, Aria Hayes and Mikayah Hayes. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Heritage Funeral Home (812 S Main St, Red Springs, NC 28377). A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
