It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Elizabeth Canady of Maxton, North Carolina, who passed away on February 6, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucratia Locklear and Colonel Locklear; her husband Wendell Canady; her children, Patricia Bullard, Patsy Jacobs, Paula Harris, Gloria Brayboy, Thurman Bullard and Glenn Bullard; her grandson Matthew Bullard; and her sons, Miss Brianna G. Scott and Aidan Connor Oxendine-Harris.
She is survived by: her children, Clayton Bullard of Maxton and Crystal G. Scott; her siblings, Lee Locklear of Maxton and Johnnie Stern Locklear; and her close friends, Sally Strickland and Earl Deese.
