He was predeceased by: his parents, Gus Miller, Jr. and Margaret "Patty" Jones Miller; and his siblings, Wesley Fields and Lillie Mae Quick. He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Mitchell (Richie) of Lake Waccamaw and Joan Miller Hunt (Joshua); his siblings, Charles Miller, Jr. of Lumberton, Gus Miller of Maxton, Sarah "Cat" Miller, Geraldine Miller, Minnie Pearl Locklear, Shirley Quick, Betty Martin of Laurinburg and Irena Locklear of Maxton; and his grandchildren, Brian Locklear (Brittany), Todd Locklear, Leon Jr. Locklear, Coty Lynn Locklear, Tiffany Graham (Joe) and Brittany Moore (Ernest). He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
