He is survived by: his children, Lora Davis of Maxton, Jeffrey Lynn Dial of Maxton, Johnnie Dial Jr. of Laurinburg and Ginger Pearson of Myrtle Beach; his siblings, Gerline Locklear (Shirley) of Maxton, Ethel Lowery of Maxton, Ellen Barton of Maxton and Thornell Dial of Maxton; his grandchildren, Keilyn, Sequoria, Alexander, Michael Jr., Olivia, Jasmine and Donavan; and his great grandchild Mila Chavis.
