She was predeceased by : her parents, Leroy Oxendine and Gertrude Cummings Oxendine; and her children, Colin Lee Oxendine, Diane Michelle Smith and Heather Gertrude Hunt.

She is survived by : her children, Leroy Savage Smith of New York, Carla Smith of Maxton and Leann Stanley of Chadbourn; her siblings, Jimmy Ray Oxendine of Pembroke, Larry Dean Oxendine of Maxton, Cynthia Oxendine, Eva Mae McMillian, Marcella Locklear, Paula Faye Locklear of Maxton, Sandra Brewington of Pembroke and Lora Lee Oxendine of Raleigh; and her great grandchildren, Katrina Oxendine and Paula Faye Locklear. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 12th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Heritage Funeral Home (812 S Main St, Red Springs, NC 28377). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 12th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
