He was predeceased by: his parents, James Anderson and Stella Anderson; and his significant other Barbara Anderson. He is survived by: his siblings, Carlton Anderson, Letha May Jones and Shirley Lowery; his son Gary Anderson (Nina) of Pembroke, NC.; his grandchildren, O'Brian Anderson (Michelle), Tyler Anderson (Jasmine), Fred Anderson (Ashlyn), Aaron Anderson and Jim Bryson (Kaiya Locklear); and his great grandchildren, Aiden, Paislee, Tyler Jr., Jacob, Allie and Alaya.
