He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Chavis and Catherine Callahan Chavis; his son Brandon Clyde Chavis; and his siblings, Carl Chavis, Guy Chavis, James Ernie Chavis and Betty Chavis Oxendine.
He is survived by: his wife Annie Mae Chavis; his children, John Cameron Chavis (Nicole) of Union Chapel and Julianna Chavis Wilkins (Eugene III) of Wakulla; his brothers, Donald Chavis of Lumberton, Dennis Chavis of Wakulla and James Douglas (Moto); his grandchildren, Brarick, Nicholas, Eugene IV, Nikayia and Ethan Clyde; and also Cathy Emanuel (David) of Wakulla. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Cherokee Chapel Holiness Methodist Church (5590 Oxendine School Rd, Maxton, NC 28364). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at the same location.
