He was predeceased by: his parents, Buck Porter and Esabell Bryant; his daughters, Kimberly Porter and Linda Faye Emanuel; his brother Timmy Spaulding; and his niece Wanda Bryant.
He is survived by: his children, Ben Porter (Savannah) of Lumberton, Benford Porter Jr. of Maxton, Payton Porter of Maxton and Betty Jo Barton of Maxton; his close friend Vonda Deese; his siblings, Jerry Porter of Maxton and Gladys Bryant (Jacob) of Maxton; his niece Glenda Carter of Maxton; and his sister-in-law Sharlene Spaulding of Maxton. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
