He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clyde Foy and Annabelle Smith Foy; his wife Shelby Jean Harper Foy; his children, Bonnie Sue Foy of Vanceboro, Robert Michael Foy (Cheryl) of Greenville and Donna Foy Hoell (Timmy) of Vanceboro; his stepchildren, Janice Sanderson (Reid) of Apex and Jesse Mitchell Johnson, Jr. (Sheila) of Wilson; and his siblings, Grace Russell of Leland and Douglas Foy of Chocowinity. He was also cherished by 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 3 step-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
