It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Virginia Stackel of Matthews, North Carolina, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 8, 2024, at the age of 106, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, G. Franklin Gehr and Mary Pansing Gehr; her husband Robert Stackel; her children, David and Martha; and her brothers, Paul, Bernard and Frederick Gehr.

She is survived by: her sons, John Stackel (Christine) and Andrew Stackel. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
