She was predeceased by: her parents, William Ira and Lola Delphia Deese Simpson; her husband Franklin Eugene Carter; and her siblings, William Ira Simpson, Jr., James "Dub" Simpson, Sr., Phillip Leon Simpson, Marie Simpson Walters, Margaret Simpson Mills and Janie Simpson Baucom.
She is survived by: her daughter Bonnie Dean Seay (Sean); her grandchildren, Boone, Bryson and Lola; her son David Richard Daniel, Jr. (Amy); her grandchildren, Gracie, Josey and Trevor; her daughter Hayley Evette Laney (Brian); her grandchildren, Weston and Waylan; and her siblings, Sarah Elizabeth Williams, Earl Van Simpson, Norman Darrell Simpson (Mary Morgan Simpson), Bruce Mitchell Simpson (Linda Rankin Simpson) and Sandra Delphia Simpson.
