She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph B. Grooms, Sr. and Dovie Allen Grooms; her former husband John Hugh Taylor, Jr.; her sister Louise Grooms Johnson; and also Lucius A. Grooms (Ruth).
She is survived by: her children, Nancy T. Blackburn (Gary), Rita T. Henderson (Lewis), Donald W. Taylor (Linda) of Charlotte and John G. Taylor (Sandra) of Charlotte; her grandchildren, Casey Blackburn of Raleigh, Melanie Blackburn Miller (Richard), Valerie Blackburn Altman (Brad), Joshua Henderson, Dawn Henderson, Christopher Henderson, Bryson Gregory Taylor, Brandy Vanover, Lauren Teague, Brandon Teague and Charlotte Stacy; her great grandchildren, Jackson Miller, Karley Miller, Darby Altman, Ashlyn Altman, Daniel D'ambrosio, Nicholas Rickards, Graham Blackburn, Caroline Blackburn, Lucien Perez and Morrigan Crane; and her brother John T. Grooms (Betty). She is also survived by many nieces/nephews.
