He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Burton and Wahneeta Bowlin Parsons; and his brother Gary Parsons. He is survived by: his sons, Kevin (Julie Parsons) and Kelly Parsons; his grandchildren, Caroline, Colin, Anna, Brock Miller, Alec, Corinne, Olivia, Kyle and Elise Parsons; his sister Naomi Mayer; his close friend Bob Ellis; and his nieces and nephews, Michael Parsons, Rhonda Parsons, Earl Mayer and Maranatha Mayer.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Christ Covenant Presbyterian Envision Campaign.

“Norman, he was always there. Although we hadn't seen each other in a few years, he was always there. Then, just like that, he's gone. Or is he? When Kevin shared the news with me last Friday that his father was passing away, my eyes filled with tears until I started remembering some of the outrageous things that Norman and I did. We grew up in the best of times and we had a ball. When I look back over the years I know that some of my best times were with Norman. Thank you for the memories.”
