It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Marie Wallace Schiavone of Matthews, North Carolina, who passed away on August 23, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard "Barney" Wallace and Gertrude Decker Wallace; her sister Carol Wallace Bliss; her granddaughter Amber Marie Schiavone; and her former husband Ray Schiavone.
She is survived by: her children, Grace McLain (Tim), Robert Schiavone, Andrea Tegard (Marsha), Bart Schiavone and Kathryn Schiavone (John Sheridan); her grandchildren, Will Schiavone (Amber Baker), Stephanie Schiavone, Joshua Tegard (Erika), Rachel Tegard Hollender (William), Meredith McLain, Valerie Sheridan and Michael Sheridan; her great grandchildren, Abby, Lauren, Lucas, Matthew and Liam; and her brothers, Bernard Wallace, Robert Wallace (Nora), John Wallace and Dennis Wallace (Peggy). She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Joan donated monthly to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for the past 35 years, which the family will continue. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude https://www.stjude.org in her name.
